Our mission
To help every cyclist ride safer and worry less, by showing which bike lights make you seen and which locks keep your bike where you left it.
Woodz Cycling is an independent, reader-supported review site and blog about cycling safety. We focus on two things that matter to every rider, whatever the bike: being visible on the road and keeping your bike from being stolen.
Who we write for
- Commuters who ride in the dark, in the rain and in busy city traffic.
- Recreational riders heading out on evening rides and weekend trails.
- Anyone who parks a bike in public, from students with a campus bike to owners of expensive e-bikes.
What we cover
- Bike light reviews: front and rear lights, rechargeable sets and daytime running lights.
- Bike lock reviews: U-locks, folding locks, chain locks and smart locks.
- The Woodz Safety Blog: practical guides on visibility, locking technique, theft prevention and riding in traffic.
What we stand for
- Safety is not a feature, it is the point. We judge lights on how well they make you visible and help you see, and locks on how well they resist real theft methods.
- Evidence over marketing. Lumen counts and security ratings are a start, not the whole story. We look at beam patterns, independent security ratings and what owners report after months of use.
- Right tool, right rider. The best lock for a city e-bike is not the best for a quick coffee stop. We match products to how people actually ride and park.
- Plain language. No jargon without an explanation.
How Woodz Cycling makes money
Woodz Cycling is free to read and earns money through affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click a link to Amazon on this site and buy something, we may earn a small commission. The price you pay does not change. Links to Amazon are marked as sponsored. Our commissions never decide which products we recommend or how we score them, and we do not accept payment or free products in exchange for reviews.
How we review
Our reviews are research-based. We combine manufacturer specifications, independent security and safety ratings, and patterns across verified customer reviews. We do not claim hands-on testing unless an article says so explicitly. Read the details on our How we review page.
